Chris Cornell - You Know My Name

About all I know about Chris Cornell is his name. And the fact that he was in Soundgarden, a band that I never really got into.

And the fact that he composed and sang one of the best James Bond themes ever, "You Know My Name."

Here's the music video, as well as the neat opening of Casino Royale.

And I don't know how he died. But I do know that fifty-two is too young.

Requiescat in pace.

  1. I listened a lot in my high school years, a very tragic death like many famous musicians. My understanding is Chicago PD is treating it as a suicide. I believe he has been sober for several years, but that still catches up to you at some point. Prayers that he was able to make his peace with the Lord.

  2. Good theme, but not as good as that sung by that caterwauling cow, Adele, "Skyfall".

I once read a scathing review of Adele and she was referred to by the above appellation. I tended to agree, but I do love "Skyfall", the movie theme.

Eternal rest be granted to Mr Cornell.

  3. Nice. I sort of missed that song at first, but you're right, it's very good. I like Nancy Sinatra's "You Only Live Twice."

    1. I am so sorry to hear that. An Eastern Orthodox Google+ friend put up pictures of his baby's baptism. According to my friend, his wife was Orthodox.

  5. Yes. Suicide. How awful. This happens so often to musicians. May God have mercy on him and comfort his family.

  6. Well that's 2 Seattle rocker suicides now. He was from Seattle like Cobain. Lack of sunlight makes for a morose childhood I guess.
